The Ruins of Ho'kem

The Ruins of Ho’kem were uncovered by the Trio via the guidance of Layard after agreeing to spare his life in trade for the treasures he promised would be there. Unfortunately, the Ruins turned out to be a trap of sorts, whereas Layard unleashed a small horde of undead upon himself and the Trio by placing the Dwarven Vase upon its shrine. The “treasures” that the Trio received included minor injuries, a set of matching tattoos, and The Golden Skull.

As Sylvio pointed out, “Ho’Kem” was the name of a Dwarven God, and these Ruins were one of many places of worship from an age that has long past and since been forgotten. The Ruins of Ho’Kem only survive in Dwarven children’s stories.
